Erika Garcia (Jr., Pembroke Pines, Fla.) earned NSUSharks.com Athlete of the Week for claiming the Sharks' lone All-South Region honor. Garcia played in 50 games during her first season with the Sharks as a first baseman, designated player and pitcher. This season she posted a .301 batting average to go along with a .445 slugging percentage. Garcia was also second on the team with 20 RBI and 13 doubles. She completed the season with 44 hits and 65 total bases. As a pitcher, Garcia picked up seven wins and posted a 1.85 ERA while striking 34 batters and didn’t allow a single homerun in 318 at bats.
