Aldabe may only be a freshman on the NSU swim team, but he has made an immediate impact on the success of the Sharks swim team. He has surpassed many milestones including a SSC record in the 400m IM and team records in the 400m IM, 100m backstroke, and 200m backstroke. He earned First-Team All-SSC and the Sunshine State Conference Freshman Male Swimmer of the Year honor as voted by the head coaches within the conference. At the NCAA Championships, he finished fourth and as a NCAA All-American in the 400 IM as well as an Honorable Mention All-American in the 100m backstroke, 200m backstroke and 200m IM. Marco’s commitment to his training regimen as well as his approach to competing has helped him reached his goals this year. He always looks for new ways to improve and trusts the program implicitly. He can always be found communicating with his coach or encouraging his teammates in and out of the water.
