Mateo picked up a Friday night win over No. 1 Tampa, tossing 8.1 innings and allowing just four hits to a Spartans team that averages over 13 hits a game. He struck out six, walked one, and the only run he gave up was unearned. It was his third victory of the year and his second victory against Tampa in as many tries, making him the only player since 2001 to defeat Tampa twice in his career.
