Andrew Durden earns NSU Player of the Week and SSC Player of the Week in his first week of play as a Shark. Durden led the Sharks to a 4-0 weekly mark, opening the season with wins over Northwood (2-1) and Albany State (13-2; 10-3; 6-3). Hitting leadoff, Durden batted .562 with three RBI and eight runs. He hit safely in every game and notched multiple hits in three.

He also scored at least one run in every contest, while driving in runs in three outings. Posting a 1.125 slugging percentage, Durden powered five extra base hits with three doubles and two home runs. He recorded a .562 on-base percentage and did not miss a beat playing centerfield.
