Aly Hassan was expected to be NSU’s top striker and he did not disappoint in the season’s opening week. Hassan totaled three goals on the week, one of which was a game-winning goal in double overtime against Christian Brothers. With only four minutes remaining, Hassan went one-on-one with the goal keeper after receiving a pass from Simon Nett up the middle and scored his ninth career game-winning goal. He also scored the first goal of the game against CBU. On Sunday against Lambuth, Hassan scored the opening goal of the game once again. Hassan slid by three defenders after receiving a ball from Tim Taylor and chipped it over the keeper from the right side. Hassan now has 29 career goals, tying Teofilo Cubillas for fifth all-time at NSU.
