NSU Volleyball Team Wins Third Straight Match

Sharks Conquer Palm Beach Atlantic In Four Games

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (October 10, 2006) - The Nova Southeastern Sharks volleyball team defeated Palm Beach Atlantic in four games on Tuesday evening by the scores of 30-15, 26-30, 30-27, 30-26. With their third consecutive victory NSU is now 9-14 on the season while Palm Beach Atlantic falls to 13-11.

Freshman middle blocker Kaitlyn McNeil (Wichita, Kansas) continued her recent hot streak with 10 kills in 13 attempts for a .692 attack percentage. McNeil also contributed with a team high six blocks, three which were solo blocks.

Sophomore outside hitter Andrea Irarrazabal (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) led the squad with 16 kills on the evening. Two other Sharks posted double figure kill totals with sophomore outside Melinda Gorman (Sarasota, Fla.) recording 15 and senior right-side Karla Ortiz (Miami, Fla.) recording 14.

Senior setter Megan Johansen (Arlington, Nebraska) put up a double-double with 53 assists and a season high 17 digs.

NSU remains at home this Saturday in the University Center
