(November 1, 2006) - Melinda Gorman (So., Sarasota, Fla.) registered 19 kills and 22 digs as the Nova Southeastern Sharks (11-19, 3-12), who forced a fifth game after trailing two games to none, lost to the Lynn Fighting Knights (14-13, 7-8) by scores of 30-28, 32-30, 26-20, 27-30, 15-11.
Megan Johansen (So., Arlington, Neb.) tallied 50 set assists in a losing effort while Knights setter Megan Bedner compiled 62.
Lynn outside hitters Larissa Witherspoon and Melissa Roberts amassed 27 and 20 kills, respectively while Karla Ortiz (Sr., Miami, Fla.) collected 13.
Witherspoon also chipped in defensively, adding 24 digs to go along with the 29 accumulated by Knights libero Christie Schade.
For the Sharks, Itza Miranda (Sr., Toa Baja, Puerto Rico) made 26 digs.
NSU outblocked Lynn 14-6. Emily Carle (So., Missouri City, Texas) led that department with eight total blocks.
The Sharks will finish the season on Saturday as they host SSC rival Barry University in a Senior Day matinee at NSU's University Center Arena.
