The Nova Southeastern University men's soccer team (6-3-0, 2-0-0 SSC) earned a hard-fought 4-2 victory over the visiting Barry University Buccaneers (6-3-0, 0-3-1 SSC), in a key Sunshine State Conference match on Wednesday evening at the NSU Soccer Complex.

Sharks' forward Anton Siedlitzki (Fr., Munich, Germany) opened the scoring in the 2nd minute off a feed from midfielder Michael Collins (Fr., San Antonio, Texas).

NSU built a 3-0 lead as defender Michael Kammermeyer (Fr., Nuremberg, Germany) and Collins tallied in the 10th and 23rd minutes. Senior striker Lorcan Cronin (Dublin, Ireland) assisted on the first goal, while senior midfielder Greg Kagan (Newington, Conn.) hooked up with Collins on the Sharks third goal.

The game was delayed for more than an hour due to lightening and rain in the South Florida region, before play resumed with NSU holding the 3-0 first-half lead.

Barry forward Marcus Reynolds scored in both the 30th and 76th minutes to cut the NSU lead to 3-2, but Cronin sealed the Sharks victory with a break-away goal in the closing seconds for his team-leading 5th goal of the season.

NSU goalkeeper Jarod Rennick (Jr., Allen, Texas) was injured late in the first half and was replaced by Steven Deering (Jr., Highland Village, Texas) to start the second half. Deering would hold the lead, making five critical saves.

The Sharks return to action on Saturday, September 30, at 7:00 p.m., when they travel to play Saint Leo University in a crucial Sunshine State Conference tilt.
