Men's Soccer Settles for a 2-2 Draw at Saint Leo University

Eric Naples Scores The Equalizer In The 85th Minute

The NSU Men's soccer team finished with a draw in a 2-2 double overtime match versus the defending Sunshine State Conference champions to remain undefeated in conference play. With the draw, NSU now stands 6-3-1 overall and 2-0-1 in conference play. Saint Leo is now 6-4-1 including 2-1-1 in conference play.

Saint Leo dented the scoreboard first when Asmir Pervan scored on a pass from Brandon Whitsett 29 minutes into the match.

Freshman Anton Siedlitzki then responded for the Sharks on a goal assisted by Lorcan Cronin and Joseph Clancy in the 66th minute.

After Saint Leo recaptured the lead with a goal in the 74th minute, Eric Naples scored his second goal of the season to equalize the match on an assist from Anton Siedlitzki.

Goalie Steven Deering was the difference in the first overtime period as he recorded many of his seven saves. In the first overtime the Sharks were outshot five to one.

For the Match NSU was outshot 17-9 while the corner kicks were even at six apiece. Deering recorded seven saves in the match while Saint Leo goalie Sam Luedke had four for the Lions.
