NSU forward Romain Onteniente (So., Nice, France) scored two goals and tallied an assist as the Nova Southeastern Sharks (9-1-1, 3-1-1 SSC) rebounded from their first loss of the season to defeat the Tampa Spartans (6-4, 2-2) by a score of 4-1 on Saturday night at the NSU Soccer Complex.
The Sharks scored early and often as Onteniente scored the game's first goal in the 14th minute, scoring from the left flank after a pass from defender Chris Sarabia (Fr., Miami, Fla.)
In the 21st minute , Aly Hassan (Fr., Weston, Fla.) scored what amounted to the game-winning goal, ripping a shot from the top of the 18 following a pass from Jonathan Mammarelli (Jr., Pembroke Pines, Fla.)
The Sharks went widened the gap at 3-0 when Onteniente set up midfielder Craig Heenighan (Fr., Widnes, England) with a through pass to the top of the 18.
After Clevon George made it 3-1, Onteniente added his second goal of the game and 13th of the season, rifling a shot from distance past Tampa 'keeper Kevin St. John.
For the game, Tampa outshot NSU 14-8 while the Spartans committed four fouls to the Sharks' three.
NSU goalkeeper Jarod Rennick (Sr., Allen, Texas) made eight saves while St. John made two.
NSU will be back in action on Wednesday, October 10 as they travel to St. Petersburg, Fla. to take on the Eckerd College Tritons at 7pm.
