Goalkeeper Jarod Rennick (Sr., Allen, Texas) recorded his third consecutive shutout to start the season as the Nova Southeastern Sharks (3-0) defeated the Bentley College Falcons by a score of 2-0 on Friday night at the NSU Soccer Complex. Romain Onteniente (So., Nice, France) tallied the game-winner for the Sharks in their home opener.

Despite the Sharks controlling play for most of the first half, the game remained scoreless until the 19th minute when Onteniente banged a shot off the left post and into the lower left corner of the goal after a pass from the midfield by Juan Gonzalez (Fr., Oakland Park, Fla.).

In the second half, Chris Sarabia (Fr., Miami, Fla.) became the first NSU defender to score a goal in 2007 after taking a shot on a loose ball on the left side of the 18-yard box in the 58th minute, icing the game.

For the game, NSU outshot Bentley 16-4 and committed 16 fouls to Bentleys nine.

Falcons' goalkeeper Derek DuBois made eight saves in a losing effort while Rennick only needed to make two for the Sharks.

NSU will be back in action on Sunday, September 2 as they host the Georgia Southwestern State Hurricanes at 7pm at the NSU Soccer Complex.
