Boca Raton, Fla. (September 25, 2007) - Kelly Diershow (So., Schaumburg, Ill.) scored the game-winning goal in the 67th minute as the Nova Southeastern Sharks (7-1, 3-0 SSC) defeated the Lynn Fighting Knights (6-4, 2-1) by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Lynn's McCusker Sports Complex, extending their winning streak to seven games.
The first half saw no scoring as the 11th-ranked Sharks outshot the Knights 9-0. Lynn goalkeeper Natalie Feller made six saves in the first frame.
In the second half, Diershow broke through in the 67th minute, following a header taken by Lauren Prow (Fr., Valparaiso, Ind.) which deflected off the crossbar with a header of her own.
The Sharks would hold Lynn to just two shots for the whole game, preserving the 1-0 victory.
NSU 'keeper Sarah Glass (So., Melbourne, Fla.) only needed to make one save for her second straight clean sheet while Feller made 10 saves in a losing effort.
The Sharks will be back in action on Monday, October 1 as they travel to West Palm Beach, Fla. to take on the Northwood Seahawks at 4pm.
