Romain Onteniente (So., Nice, France) scored two goals, an equalizer and game-winner, and Aly Hassan (Fr., Weston, Fla.) registered two assists as the Nova Southeastern Sharks (8-0-1, 2-0-1 SSC) defeated the Florida Southern Moccasins (4-5, 1-3) by a score of 2-1 on Saturday night at the NSU Soccer Complex.
Southern struck first in the 41st minute when Garrett Gaa picked the lower left corner and ripped a shot past Sharks' 'keeper Jarod Rennick for the 1-0 lead.
Less than a minute later, Onteniente equalized, shooting the ball from the left side of the 18 past Mocs' goalkeeper Johan Jonsson.
In the 53rd minute, Onteniente gave NSU the lead with his league-leading 10th goal of the season following a pass from the top of the 18 by Hassan.
For the game, FSC outshot the Sharks 14-13 while both goalkeepers made five saves apiece.
NSU will be back in action on Wednesday, October 3 as they travel to Boca Raton, Fla. to face the Lynn Fighting Knights at 3pm at the McCusker Sports Complex.
