WINITER PARK, FLA. (Oct. 18, 2008) - The Nova Southeastern University Men's Soccer team traveled to the campus of Rollins College Saturday to take the field against the conference rival Tars.

The Sharks (9-5-1, 2-2 SSC) shut-out fellow Sunshine Conference member Rollins College (6-8-0, 3-4 SSC) 3-0 bringing them to .500 in conference play. Nova Southeastern University's offense was sparked by junior, David Wahlberg (Skanor, Sweden). Wahlberg gave the Sharks a 1-0 advantage right out of the gates with an unassisted goal, his first of two, at the 3:49 mark.

Craig Heenighan (So., Widnes, England) would contribute to the first half lead with an unassisted goal of his own with just under eight minutes remaining in the half. Nova Southeastern's defense played their part, holding the Tars to only five first half shots, and only 13 total throughout the night.

David Wahlberg (Skanor, Sweden) found the back of the net again with seven minutes gone in the second half giving him his second goal, and the Sharks a solid 3-0 lead. Nova Southeastern would never look back. The Sharks three goal lead took the pressure of sophomore goalkeeper Juan Vizcarrando (So., Weston, Fla.). Vizcarrando pocketed three saves against the Tars, and preserved a hard earned shut-out for Head Coach Giuseppe DePalo and his coaching staff.

Nova Southeastern University Men's Soccer team will return to the NSU Soccer Complex for their next contest on Wednesday Oct. 22 against Eckerd at 7:00pm.
