FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (September 12, 2008) - The No. 9 nationally ranked Nova Southeastern University men's soccer finished in a 1-1 tie after 110 minutes of play vs. Embry Riddle University in action on Friday evening. The Sharks record in now 4-0-1 on the season while Embry-Riddle now stands at 1-1-1.
Joe Yoffe put the Eagles of Embry-Riddle in the lead when he scored off an assist from Marco Harleman in the 19th minute.
With 1:55 remaining before halftime, NSU forward David Wahlberg (Jr., Skanor, Sweden) found the back of the net off an assist from Tim Taylor (So., Farmington Hills, Mich.) to tie the match.
In a heated match that featured six yellow cards and 26 fouls, neither team was able to find the net for the remainded of the match. Embry-Riddle out-shot NSU 17-15 but the Sharks had an 11-6 edge in corner kicks.
Sharks goalie Travis Frazier (Fr., West End, N.C.) registed five saves while Eagles goalkeeper Viktor Bergstrand had six.
Taylor, Chris Pruitt (So., Canton, Mich., Alvin Quaye (Fr., East Ham, England), Craig Heenigan (So., Widnes, England) and Frazier all played the full 110 minutes for NSU.
NSU will travel to St. Augustine, Fla. To play the Flagler College Saints on Sunday, September 14th at 2 p.m.
