SAINT AUGUSTINE, Fla. (September 14, 2008) - The No. 9 nationally ranked Nova Southeastern University men's soccer fell 4-0 to the Flagler College Saints in a match on the road Sunday afternoon. NSU falls to 4-1-1 on the season while the Flagler College Saints improve to 3-1-0.
Saints' forward Eoin Cassin scored Flagler's first goal ten minutes into the first half on a direct kick. Kevin Partel increased the score to 2-0 on an unassisted goal with two minutes remaining in the half.
NSU caught an unfortunate brake just ten minutes into the second half, as forward Aly Hassan (So., Weston, Fla.) was sent off, leaving the Sharks a man down for the remaining 35 minutes.
Flagler would take advantage in the 67th minute, when Conor Killeen assisted Cassin for the third Saints goal of the afternoon.
The Saints would add another insurance goal in the 81st minute, when Brad Vinciguerra found the back off the net with an assist from Arnel Selman
Flagler ended up out shooting the Sharks 20-10, but goalkeeper Travis Frazier (Fr., West End, N.C.) ended up tied for the match high with five saves.
Romaine Onteniente (Jr., Nice, France) and Juan Gonzalez (So., Oaklnad Park, Fla.) had a match high three shots for NSU, including two on goal for each.
NSU returns home to host St. Thomas University on Friday, September 19th at 6pm at the NSU Soccer Complex.
