MELBOURNE Fla. (Oct. 1, 2009) - The Nova Southeastern University volleyball team came back from a two-sets to one deficit to defeat Florida Tech 3-2 in action on Thursday evening. The win improves the Sharks record to 11-6, 2-2 in Sunshine State Conference play while Florida tech falls to 6-7, 0-5 SSC.

The story of the match was Sharks senior All-America setter Valia Petrova (Sofia, Bulgaria), who recorded her first triple-double of the season with 11 kills, 39 assists and 20 digs. Petrova also added two aces and a block. Junior outside hitter Taylor Pohlman (Olathe, Kan.) and freshman middle blocker Carly Perschnick (Dwight, Ill.) tied for the team lead with 13 kills apiece. Sophomore middle blocker Molly Sigerich (Downers Grove, Ill.) and senior outside hitter Jenerra McGruder (Euless, Tex.) followed with eight and seven kills, respectively.
