FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Oct. 21, 2009) - The Nova Southeastern men's soccer lost its third straight game by falling to the No. 9 Tampa Spartans, 6-1 Wednesday night at the NSU Soccer Complex. It is the Sharks fifth loss in the last six games.

The Sharks (7-9-0, 2-5-0 SSC) got off to a slow start on a rainy Wednesday night and were only able to tally two shots in the first half. Meanwhile, the Spartans (11-1-1, 5-1-0 SSC) piled on three goals before halftime. Tampa's Lister Warren scored twice while Greg O'Conner scored the second goal.

The Sharks came out with a little more firepower in the second half. They took 11 shots in the final 45 minutes, four of which were on goal. NSU put its only point on the board when Romain Onteniente (Sr., Nice, France) scored his third goal of the season. Tim Taylor (Jr., Farmington Hills, Mich.) earned his third assist of the year when he booted a corner kick to Onteniente who scored from 30 yards out.

After the goal, the Spartans clamped down on defense and stopped the Shark attack. They also scored three goals in the final 21 minutes. Pascal Milien scored Tampa's fourth goal and Greg Sasser knocked in his first two goals of the season.

The Nova Southeastern men's soccer team will finish its conference schedule this Saturday, Oct. 24 at home against Saint Leo at 7 p.m.
