Boca Raton, Fla. (Sept. 19, 2009) - The Nova Southeastern  University women's soccer team fell to Lynn 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at  McCusker Sports Complex.  NSU now drops to 4-2-0 overall and 1-1-0 in  the Sunshine State Conference, while Lynn improves to 5-3-0 on the  season and 1-0-0 in the conference.
 The teams played to a scoreless tie through the first half.  The game  was delayed for 30 minutes with 3:51 left in the half due to lightning.     
 Lynn broke the tie in the 73rd minute as Sarah Mendelsberg's pass found  the head of Melissa Ortiz.    
 The Sharks had a several chances, including a shot from Alexis Hernandez  (Jr., Pembroke Pines, Fla.) just went just above the goal in the 64th  minute.    
 Lynn outshot the Sharks 15-10.  Both teams took two corner kicks each.   Sarah Glass (R-Jr., Melbourne, Fla.) had four saves, while Kelsey Butler  made two stops.    
 NSU returns to the pitch on Thursday when the Sharks open a three-game  homestand with Florida Southern.  Game time is set for 7 p.m.
