FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern women’s soccer team (6-3-1, 3-0-1 SSC) kicks for a cure, hosting the Eckerd College Tritons (1-10-0, 0-5-0 SSC) at the NSU Soccer Complex Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 7 pm.
The first 300 fans will receive a free pink NSU t-shirt. All fans will have the opportunity to participate in half time promotional games which includes different prizes.
All proceeds will go to the Fort Lauderdale/Miami Komen for the Cure Foundation.
The Sharks head into this game after earning a tie for first place in the Sunshine State Conference for the first time this season. NSU has gone 5-0-1 in their last six matches, while not losing a game in conference at 3-0-1. Last Friday, Oct. 8 NSU pulled out a defensive battle at Tampa 1-0.
The players to watch for this game will be co-captain
Alexis Hernandez (Sr., Pembroke Pines, Fla.) and freshman midfielder
Malin Broberg (Stockholm, Sweden). Hernandez leads the team with six goals, tied for fifth in the conference, while Broberg posts three goals and assists in their 2010 campaign.
NSU leads the all-time series against the Tritons 7-3-3, going 5-0-2 in their last seven meetings.
The Tritons enter the match off a 1-0 loss against Rollins College on Oct. 5.
