Men’s Soccer Travels to Florida Southern

NSU brings back-to-back SSC victories into Lakeland

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Carrying momentum after a come from behind victory over Saint Leo last Saturday, the Nova Southeastern University men’s soccer team (6-4-2, 2-4-0 SSC) travel to Lakeland to face Florida Southern (8-3-1, 3-3-0 SSC) tomorrow night in SSC play.

NSU came from behind against Saint Leo last Saturday to win 2-1, getting both goals from SSC Offensive Player of the Week Aly Hassan.

The Sharks have been led by senior forward Hassan who has posted seven goals on the year while also dishing out three assists. Freshmen midfielder Matthew Ilter (Lake Mary, Fla.) posts four goals for the season.

In goal, keeper Lyle Howe owns a 1.27 goals-against-average, saving 55 shots in 12 games with three shutouts.

NSU is 12-5-1 all-time against the Mocs, while going 6-1-1 in their last eight meetings.

The Sharks shutout the Mocs, 3-0, in their previous meeting, Sept. 30 of last year at the NSU Soccer Complex.
