WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern men’s soccer team lost by multiple goals for the first time this season on the road against the No. 14 Rollins Tars Saturday night, 3-1.

Matthew Ilter (Lake Mary, Fla.) scored his first goal of the season and put the Sharks up by a goal early in the game. NSU goalkeeper
Lyle Howe (So., Coral Springs, Fla.) collected four saves but picked up his third loss of the season.
The match started slowly as neither team had a shot on goal in the first 19 minutes. The Sharks scored on their first shot on goal in the 20th minute when Ilter scored off a pass from
Brian Cardozo (Sr., Davie, Fla.) on the left side in front of the box. It was the first shot taken in Ilter’s young career at NSU. The lead lasted 11 minutes as the Tars (6-2-1, 3-1-0 SSC) tied the match on header off a corner kick from Jack Clifford.
As a whole, the first half was very tight as both teams only took two shots on goal. The Shark defense limited the home team to only four shots in the period.
The Tars controlled the action at the start of the second period and doubled their shot output before the Sharks could take their first shot of the half in the 67th minute. The Sharks would only take two shots in the second half, one of which was on goal.
Rollins took the lead in the 82nd minute when Chad Neinken scored on a header in the box. Rollins would score the final goal of the game five minutes later on a penalty kick. The final two goals marked the second straight game in which NSU has let the opposition score in the final ten minutes of regulation.
The Sharks will stay on the road to face No. 9 Tampa this Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 7 pm.
