FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Fresh off defeating Palm Beach Atlantic 1-0 last Tuesday, the Nova Southeastern University Sharks (8-3-1, 4-0-1 SSC) take the bus to Lakeland, Fla. to face the No. 15 Florida Southern (8-3-2, 4-1-0 SSC) tomorrow evening at 5 p.m.
The Sharks enter the game ranked second in the Sunshine State Conference behind the No. 9 Rollins Tars. Florida Southern follows NSU in the SSC ranked at third. With the end of the regular season fast approaching, both the Sharks and the Mocs are competing for a top-two seed and a first round bye in the SSC tournament.
NSU has dropped its last two meetings to the Mocs including a 1-0 nail biter at the NSU Soccer Complex last year. However, the Sharks hold a 7-3-1 career record against Florida Southern.
The Sharks own an eight game undefeated streak, winning seven of their last eight and tying No. 4 Rollins in Winter Park, Fla. on Oct. 2. This eight game stand is the longest since 2006 when the Sharks opened their season with eight straight wins.
With three matches left in the regular season the Sharks are fourth in the NCAA South Region rankings while Florida Southern is slotted second.
The Moccasins enter this game after defeating Barry 2-1 in Miami, Fla. on Oct. 17. Florida Southern owns an undefeated 2-0-0 record on their home pitch while the Sharks are 1-1-1 on the road this season.
