Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University volleyball team (7-14, 2-8 SSC) will host conference opponent Florida Tech (10-15, 1-9 SSC) in the Arena at the Don Taft University Center for its annual Dig Pink night on Friday at 7 p.m. The Sharks will take a day off before facing Lynn on Halloween, Oct. 31st at 2 p.m. at home.
The team is looking to make history breaking a volleyball attendance record filling the 1,000 seat arena in the Don Taft University Center on Friday and to pink it out by encouraging fans to wear pink. Also, each fan is asked to donate a dollar to reach its goal of $1,000.

On Sunday, the team will be promoting Kills for Candy. Every time that a NSU player records a kill, the team will throw candy out into the crowd. Additionally, the match will be televised on BECON TV.
NSU is coming off a disappointing 0-2 weekend falling to Eckerd, 3-1 and Saint Leo, 3-0.
Senior Paola Ruiz (Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico) finished with 14 kills, 10 in the final set against Saint Leo. The outside hitter also had 14 digs for her 20th career double-double. Sophomore Danielle Graham (Cincinnati, Ohio) finished with a career high four blocks and senior libero Kathleen Yony (Miami, Fla.) tallied a team high 15 digs.
In the loss to Eckerd, Yony had a team high 23 digs, including 10 in the first set and Graham was the lone Shark with double-digit kills with 12.
Yony is just 73 digs away from breaking the all-time NSU dig record of 1,698. Sophomore Jordan Pappas (Naperville, Ill.) is only the eighth Sharks player with over 1,000 assists in her career.
About Florida Tech
The Flagler Saints topped Florida Tech, 3-0, to split the non-conference season series for the two teams last week. Janelle Branch led the Panther offense with 10 kills on the night while Ashley Bryant had 13 digs to lead the match. Florida Tech was held to a .116 attack percentage in the effort.
Florida Tech sits one spot below the Sharks in the SSC standings in eighth place. NSU defeated the Panthers earlier this year in an exciting five set match where head coach Steve Wilcosky’s team fought for the victory. Ruiz tied a match high with 16 kills and served two aces and Graham added 15 kills hitting .393 on the night. Pappas added 48 assists. Molly Sigerich (Jr., Downers Grove, Ill.) added four block solos and one block assist as she secured the sixth spot as the all-time leader in blocks with 205.

The Fighting Knights of Lynn are currently on a four-match win streak with an sweep over Barry on Wednesday night and sit tied for second in the SSC. Devon Woolard recorded a double-double 33 assists and 15 digs. Seniors Kala Abdell, Katie Bradley and Sophie Gagnon all had eight kills apiece to lead the Fighting Knights while Gagnon hit an error-free .615 on the night. Fellow senior Haley Pratt also had six kills with zero errors to hit .600 for the match while sophomore Chelsey Semprini posted six kills with just one error to hit .294. Defensively, the Fighting Knights recorded 16 total blocks.
The Sharks stumbled against Lynn earlier in the year with a 3-0 loss in Boca Raton, Fla. on Sept. 24th. Ruiz registered nine kills to lead the Sharks and although Graham only had six kills, she hit .308 on the night on 13 attacks.
