WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. –
The Nova Southeastern men’s soccer team (4-11-1) ended its season with a 2-1 loss to the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish (9-7-0) Wednesday afternoon in West Palm Beach, Fla.

The Sharks did not get off to a quick start as they were held down in the first half. The Sailfish took nine first half shots while five were on goal. The Sharks kept the match scoreless for most of the period but allowed the first goal of the match with less than two minutes remaining before the break.

NSU was put in an even larger hole when the Sailfish scored their second goal in the 57th minute on a cross that was not cleared out by the NSU defense. Three minutes later, the Sharks cut the deficit in half as Halil Tozar (Fr., Berlin, Germany) scored his team-high fourth goal of the season.

The goal was set up by Tyree Clarke (Fr., Birmingham, England) who recorded his second assist of his career. Clarke played a cross from the right side into Tozar who sneaked it in to the bottom right corner of the net. Tozar finishes the season with a team-high 10 points.

Trailing by a goal, the Sharks continued to attack but only recorded one shot-on-goal for the remainder of the match. Andrea Giombetti (Fr., Rome, Italy) a candidate for Sunshine State Conference Freshman of the Year, collected six saves in the defeat, bringing his season total to 56. It was the final match of the careers of seniors Juan Rivera (Miami, Fla.) and Alvin Quaye (West Ham, England) who have played at NSU since 2007.
