CARROLLTON, Ga. –
The Nova Southeastern men’s basketball team (2-3) made its longest road trip of the year and lost a close defensive battle to the West Georgia Wolves (7-0) Tuesday night in Carrollton, Ga., 65-57.

Iran Hollis (Jr., Hollywood, Fla.) and Shaun Pratl (Jr., Chicago Ridge, Ill.) each scored a team-high 12 points in the game. Pratl, who made his Shark debut, collected seven rebounds while Hollis brought down a game-high nine boards. Tim Traversa  (Jr., Chicago, Ill.) filled up the box score with a team-high six assists along with seven points and seven rebounds.

NSU was plagued by turnovers in the first half as they committed 16 before the break. Both teams shot 33 percent from the floor, although the Sharks struggled from downtown, shooting 2-for-9. No player had more than four points in the first half while eight Sharks scored.

The Sharks spent the second half digging out of a double-digit whole and nearly tied the game on separate occasions. The Sharks made a run at the start of the half and came within a Louie Schonauer (Jr., Lincoln, Ill.) missed 3-pointer of tying the game. The Wolves rebuilt their lead and at one point led by 12 points after a barrage of three-pointers from Gavin Field.

With the clock winding down, the Sharks made another push as Hollis led the charge with several rebounds and drawn fouls. The Sharks cut the deficit down to three once again but the home team held on to stay undefeated. The Sharks ended the night with 23 turnovers.

Justin Jeangerard (Fr., Weaverville, Calif.) recorded six points and six rebounds on the night. Jacob Reed (So., Perth, Australia) made his season debut and recorded two points, two rebounds and a steal. Robert Huntington (Sr., Perth, Australia) had seven points and four rebounds.
