FORT LAUDERDALE
, Fla. The Nova Southeastern volleyball team (7-18, 3-10) is headed out on the road for the final time in 2011, as it heads to Tampa to take on the No. 5 Spartans (25-1, 12-1 SSC) in a Sunshine State Conference clash. The Senior Day match for five Tampa seniors will begin at 7 p.m. Friday evening.

The Sharks are coming off one of their most impressive victories of the season, a 3-2 come-from-behind win over Florida Tech Tuesday night. The Panthers went up 2-1 after winning the second and third sets, but the Sharks recovered and took the fourth in extra points and then rolled to a 15-9 win in the fifth set to complete the comeback.

Samantha High (So., Naples, Fla.) paced NSU in the match with a season-high 15 kills. Danielle Graham (Jr., Cincinnati, Ohio), currently averaging 2.82 kills per set, added 12 kills to go with a solo block and two blocking assists in the victory. Molly Sigerich (Sr., Downers Grove, Ill.) kicked in five kills, but her impact was felt greater at the net with two solo blocks and four blocking assists.

As a team, NSU reached double-digit blocks for the sixth time this season, knocking back 10 Panthers attacks.

Tampa enters the match ranked fifth in the nation and first in the south region. The Spartans, undefeated for the better part of the first two months of the season, fell to No. 22 Eckerd in a five-set heartbreaker Friday, Oct. 28. Tampa bounced back with a downing of Saint Leo in four sets the following afternoon. The match against NSU will be the Spartans second match in a streak in which they play three straight.

Danielle Selkridge leads the Spartans and the conference with a .518 hitting percentage, while teammate Meagan Burke is fourth at .343. Selkridge also paces the SSC in blocks per set with a 1.09 average. As a team, the Spartans are leading the SSC in hitting percentage (.316), kills (14.19) and blocks (2.60).

In the first meeting between the Sharks and Spartans, Tampa was able to knock off the Sharks in an especially competitive match despite the 3-0 final score.
