Volleyball Looks to Get Back in Win Column Tuesday

Sharks head south to take on Barry.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern women’s volleyball team (2-8, 0-2) will travel to Barry (6-2, 0-2) Tuesday for a 7 p.m. Sunshine State Conference matchup with the Buccaneers.

The Sharks opened conference play last week with losses to Saint Leo and Eckerd. NSU first hosted Saint Leo last Tuesday, falling in four sets to the Lions. Freshman Lauren Lewkowicz (Coral Springs, Fla.) paced the Sharks with 15 kills and Anabely Escarpita (Sr., Boca Raton, Fla.) added 11. The match at Eckerd over the weekend is one that the Sharks will look to quickly put behind them as the offense struggled throughout the match.

Paige Boivin (Jr., Plainfield, Ill.) leads the Sharks with 5.42 digs per set, while Kristina Eric (So., Sokolac Bosnia) is recording a team-high 4.97 assists per set.

Barry also began conference play with two losses, both coming at home to Florida Southern and Tampa. The Bucs were shutout in each of those matches.

Tania Torres and Mariana Lisboa are each averaging over three kills per set for the Bucs at 3.89 and 3.29, respectively. Mima Hajdukovic provides the Bucs with 6.48 assists per set, while Libby Walter adds 5.30.
