Men’s Soccer Shutout by Embry-Riddle

Sharks fall scoreless on the road 7-0.

BOX SCORE

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern men’s soccer team (2-3-1, 0-1-0 SSC) fell scoreless on the road against NAIA powerhouse No. 22 Embry-Riddle Eagles (4-2-1).

The Sharks were looking for a bounce back performance this week in its first of two games after losing a heart breaker to No. 8 Barry (6-0-0, 1-0-0 SSC).

Embry-Riddle proved to be quite a tough test for the Sharks, as the Eagles found the back of the net 54 seconds into the game, which proved to be the game-winning goal.

NSU had trouble generating any offense throughout the game recording 10 shots with only one shot on goal coming from James Pucci (Fr., Carrara, Italy).

The Eagles were able to generate 19 shots with 11 shots on goal capitalizing three times in the first period and four times in the final period.

Freshman Steffen Rau (Stuttgart, Germany) making his second appearance between the posts and playing the full 90-minutes knocked away three of the Eagles 11 shots on goal.

The Sharks will look to rebound from its loss this Fri., Sept. 23, at 7 p.m. as they return to Sunshine State Conference play at the NSU Soccer Complex where they will battle No. 16 Saint Leo (4-1-0, 0-1-0 SSC).
