FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. –
The Nova Southeastern men’s soccer team (2-4-1; 0-2-0 SSC) will look to get back on the right track against the No. 16 Lynn Fighting Knights (6-1-0; 2-0 SSC) this Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Boca Raton, Fla.

The Sharks enter the match with their backs against the wall as they approach the midway point of the season. NSU has take three straight losses with two coming against nationally ranked Sunshine State Conference opponents. In matches against No. 8 Barry and No. 25 Saint Leo, the Sharks led with 10 minutes remaining but could not hold on.

If the Sharks are to snap their losing streak they will have to do it against a team they have not had a strong history against. The Sharks have only defeated Lynn three times in school history and only twice in the last 20 years.

One of those victories came last season when NSU defeated the Fighting Knights at home on senior night, 5-2. It was a farewell night for the NSU 2010 senior class as all five goals were scored or assisted on by seniors in their last home match. Although no current Shark collected a point against Lynn, this year’s returners have experience taking down a team that has plagued the Sharks for decades.

If the Sharks are to take a second straight victory, they’ll need the young guns to step up and score goals. Halfway through the season the Sharks have not had a player establish himself as the team’s go-to scorer. James Pucci (Fr., Carrara, Italy) and Phillip Klaus (Fr., Lippstad, Germany) each have a team-high two goals on the season while Pucci leads the team with two assists. Four other Sharks have one goal on the year.

Lynn enters the game red hot as they carry a six match win-streak. After being upset against Harding to start the year, the Fighting Knights have rattled off wins against No. 5 Clayton State, Florida Tech and Florida Southern. Harald Gracholski currently leads the team with five goals on a team-high 25 shots.
