FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern men’s and women’s soccer teams will play host to conference rivals Barry Saturday, Oct. 13 at the NSU Soccer Complex. The men’s game will kick off at 5 p.m. and the women will be playing the ladder of the double header at 7:30 p.m.
The men are coming into this game on a two game losing streak, falling to Rollins, 3-0, and Eckerd, 3-1. The Sharks are currently sitting seventh in the conference standings. Barry who has yet to beat a conference opponent, is at the bottom of the conference. With a win, the Sharks would earn three points and potentially jump three spots, to fourth place in the conference.
Overall, the Sharks have a losing record against the Buccaneers, 9-15-3. Barry has come away victorious in each of the last three matches. However, the Sharks look to keep Barry winless in the conference this season.
The women are coming into this one on a two match winning streak, beating Saint Leo, 4-0, and Eckerd, 2-0. NSU is fifth in the conference and only three points out of second place. Barry’s women’s team is also at the bottom of the Sunshine State Conference standings, with a 1-4 record in conference play.
The Sharks have been known to struggle against Barry, posting a 5-16-1 record against the Buccaneers. However, the Sharks have taken two of the last three matches from Barry.
