Box Score Tampa, Fla. –The Nova Southeastern University women’s soccer team( 4-5-3, 3-3-2 SSC) finished in a scoreless draw against #16 University of Tampa (11-3-2, 5-1-1 SSC), Tuesday, Oct. 16.
The first half was relatively quiet for the Sharks as they were outshot, 8-3. Goalkeeper
Amanda Kopale (Fr., Cape Coral, Fla.) made two huge point blank saves to keep the match scoreless in the first half.
The second half saw more of the same as the Sharks were outshot, 10-4. Kopale came up with three more big saves including one in the 89th minute when Tampa’s Lauren Moore took a high shot that would have dropped in, but Kopale was able to tip the ball over the net.
The first overtime period was dominated offensively by the Spartans outshooting the Sharks, 4-0. However none of the shots threatened Kopale. In the second overtime period the Spartans possessed the ball for most of the time, but didn’t have a real chance of scoring.
The Sharks took seven shots on the evening none of which was registered as a shot on goal.
With the point, the Sharks cannot finish lower than fifth and depending on tomorrows results could finish as high as fourth clinching a home conference tournament game.
The Sharks next game is against Rollins, Saturday, Oct. 20 at 5 p.m. at the NSU Soccer Complex.
