FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern women’s soccer team lost, 3-0, to No. 24 Rollins Saturday, Oct. 20, in a non-conference match at the NSU Soccer Complex.

Before the match the women’s soccer team recognized its seniors, Deirdre Long (Sr., Boca Raton, Fla.) and Michelle Fuerst (Sr., Armonk, N.Y.), in honor of senior day.

The scoring started early for the Tars, when in the seventh minute a free kick that was taken by Courtney Reddig tipped off the head of Brenna Mckee and into the far corner of the goal. Rollins outshot the Sharks, 8-3, in the first half.

The second half was more of the same when McKee knocked in her second goal of the match. McKee dribbled through the heart of the NSU defense and beat Fuerst on a one-on-one, putting the ball in the back of the net.

The final goal of the match came in the 75th minute, when Emma Jones played a through ball to Ali Schrader, which sprung a one-on-one opportunity with Fuerst and finishing easily.

The match was physical from the get-go, as there were eight yellow cards and a red card given out.

The Sharks will be playing in their final match of the regular season at Florida Tech Wednesday, Oct. 24. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
