MELBOURNE, Fla.
– The Nova Southeastern men’s soccer team (6-8-1) fell to the Panthers of Florida Tech (9-3-3), 2-0, Wednesday, Oct. 24, in Melbourne, Fla.

The game winning goal came in the 50th minute of the match when a foul in the box led to a penalty kick for the Panthers. Gary Ogilvie was able to put it off of Nathan Cox’s (Jr., Fircrest, Wash.) fingertips and into the bottom right corner of the goal.

The best opportunity for the Sharks in the first half came off of a rare indirect free kick inside the box, about twelve yards out that was taken by Riccardo Bini (Fr., Varese, Italy) but saved nicely by senior goalkeeper Brentton Muhammad.

In the 48th minute of the second half the Panthers had a goal taken away off a corner that was head into the box but goal keeper interference was called against FIT.

In the 64th minute of the match Florida Tech’s Conner Flemming played a low cross into the box finding the left foot of Drake Hillman and past Humberto Encalada (Jr., Sunrise, Fla.) for the second goal of the match.

The Sharks’ final match of the regular season will be played Saturday, Oct. 27 at Saint Leo. This match is a must win for the Sharks. With a win they will clinch a spot in the SSC tournament and a loss will end its season.
