Women’s Soccer to Host Florida Blue SSC Quarterfinal Match Against Eckerd

The Sharks look to advance to the semi-finals in Rollins.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern women’s soccer team are hosting the Florida Blue Sunshine State quarterfinal match against Eckerd, Tuesday, Oct. 30th at 7 p.m. at the NSU Soccer Complex.

The Sharks (4-7-3, 3-3-2 SSC) clinched the four seed in the conference giving them a home match against the fifth seeded Tritons (9-6-2, 3-4-1 SSC).

These teams have already faced off against each other twice this season. In the first match, at Eckerd, the contest finished in a 0-0 draw where NSU was able to control most of the match, outshooting the Tritons, 25-11. However, good goalkeeping kept the match scoreless. In the second contest at the NSU Soccer Complex, the Sharks got the best of Eckerd, winning 2-0 with goals from Malin Broberg (Jr., Stockholm, Sweden) and Sierra Lelii (So., Seminole, Fla.).

Since the Sharks started playing in the SSC tournament in 2004, the Sharks have three tournament victories. The last time the Sharks competed in the tournament, NSU reached the semifinals.

The winner of this match will travel to play No.1 seed Rollins, Friday, Nov. 2nd at 7 p.m.
