Sharks fell in four after an even match through two.

BOX SCORE

BOCA RATON, Fla.
- The Nova Southeastern women’s volleyball team (4-22, 1-9 SSC) fell in a tough road battle to Lynn (14-9, 4-7 SSC) on Friday night in a four set match. After an even tilt through two sets the Sharks dropped the final two, falling 3-1 to the Fighting Knights.

Despite the outcome of the match Kristina Eric (Jr., Sokolac, Bosnia and Herzegovina) had an outstanding performance, falling one kill shy of a triple-double, registering 9 kills, 27 assists and 10 digs. Also contributing to the office were Dana Holger (Fr., Lino Lakes, Minn.) and Sydney Cook (Fr., Miami, Fla.), who also tallied nine kills each with 11 and nine digs, respectively. Paige Boivin (Sr., Plainville, Ill.) led defensively with 18 digs.

The first set was all in favor of the Fighting Knights, who took 11 of the first 15 points. The Sharks looked alive midway through the match coming within four of Lynn but wasn’t enough to turn the tables.  The Sharks dropped the first set, 20-25

In the second set NSU came out with a purpose, taking an early five point lead and never looking back. The Sharks led by as many as eight points midway through the match and maintained that edge the entire way through, handling the Fighting Knights, 25-17, to even the match.

The third set became a battle of endurance and error control. NSU and Lynn battled point for point for the entire set with neither team gaining more then a three-point lead. With a 25-25 tie the final three points of the set were decided by attack errors, which favored the Fighting Knights, defeating the Sharks, 28-26, taking a 2-1 advantage in the match.

The fourth and final set was all that was needed by Lynn to close out the Sharks. After an explosive second and third set, the sharks were only able to register eight points, falling, 25-28, in the set and falling, 1-3 in the match

The Sharks are back on the road again next Saturday, Nov. 3 where they will take on Rollins College at 4 p.m.
