FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – This Friday, Nov. 16, is Senior Night, and the Sharks will host Saint Leo (11-16, 3-12 SSC). Game time is 7 p.m. The season wraps up the following day at 6 p.m, against the sixth-ranked team in the NCAA South Region, Florida Southern (20-11, 10-5 SSC).
Prior to Friday’s match, five players will take part in Senior Night ceremonies:
Paige Boivin (Planfield, Ill.),
Kelly McMahon(Madison, Wisc.),
Jordan Pappas (Naperville, Ill.) and
Rachel Woodson (Rogers, Ark.). Graduating junior
Julia Lopez (El Paso, Texas) will also be honored.
Back on Oct. 13, Saint Leo swept NSU in straight sets, 25-18, 25-18, 25-15.
Dana Holger (Fr., Lino Lakes, Minn.) led the squad with nine kills, while
Sydney Cook (Fr., Miami) added seven. Boivin had the most digs for the Sharks, with 12, while
Kristina Eric (Jr., Sokolac, Bosnia and Herzegovina) turned in game-high honors with 22 assists.
Florida Southern also took this year’s earlier match, on Oct. 12, in four sets (25-18, 22-25, 26-24, 25-15). Three NSU players had double digits in kills:
Caitlin Donahue (Fr., Miami) with 12, and Cook and Holger with 10 apiece (Holger also added 18 digs). There were four more Sharks with 10 or more digs, led by Bolvin’s 25, while Eric had 39 assists and 11 digs for the team’s second double-double.
