FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University women’s soccer team (2-4-1, 1-2-0 SSC) dropped its second consecutive match, as it fell to Lynn (3-5-1, 3-2-0 SSC), 1-0, at the NSU Soccer Complex.
The lone goal of the game came in the 23rd minute of the first half when Riley Andreu played a through ball to Kirstie Schults, who made the most out of her one-on-one opportunity by putting the ball past
Amanda Kopale (Fr., Cape Coral, Fla.) and into the lower right corner of the net.
The Sharks’ best opportunity came in the 79th minute when
Andi Burchfield (So., Greenville, S.C.) took a shot from the top of the 18-yard box, off the fingertips of keeper Kelsey Butler and off of the crossbar.
The Sharks dominated most of the match, outshooting the Knights, 26-6, with
Malin Broberg (Jr., Stockholm, Sweden) taking 11 of the team’s shots, tying the record for most shots in a game. However, Butler’s 10 saves preserved the 1-0 victory for the Knights.
Kopale made two saves on the evening for the Sharks.
NSU will hit the road Wednesday, Oct. 3, as the Sharks take on Rollins in Winter Park, Fla.
