Sharks win third match in a row.

Box Score

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern men's soccer team (3-1) earned its biggest win of the season Wednesday, taking down the defending NCAA national champions, No. 6 Lynn (2-1-1) at the NSU Soccer Complex, 4-1.

The game-winning goal came from a freshman, Austin Foor (Sunbury, Ohio), who scored his first collegiate goal to put the Sharks up 1-0. Foor came in the match six minutes prior and scored in the 41st minute to put his team up. The Sharks took advantage of a great oppurtunity on a free kick into the box that Foor knocked in, and Stefano Fanfoni (So., Cremona, Italy) was credited with the assist. It was the sixth time this season a Shark has scored his first collegiate goal.

The next goal came in the second half, in the 54th minute, from Karl Enarsson (So., Gothenburg, Sweden). The ball was sent in on a corner kick from Fanfoni to Nicola Brivio (So., Gallarte, Italy), who passed to Enarsson for the header goal. It was Enarsson's second goal this season.

NSU would go up 3-0 just 1:27 later on a penalty kick by Fanfoni, stemming from a yellow card penalty on Lynn's goalkeeper, Kevin Shields.

Lynn got on the board in the 79th minute, as Javier Lopez Machon set up Michael O'Neill for his first goal of the year, cutting the Shark lead to two at 3-1.

But the Sharks would get the proverbial icing on the cake, when in the 87th minute, Foor connected on his second goal of the match, off another assist from Brivio, cementing the victory.

NSU goalkeeper Andrea Giombetti (Jr., Rome, Italy) only allowed the one Lynn goal, earning four saves in the win.

The Sharks earned a win at home against the Fighting Knights for the second year in a row. Last season, the Sharks defeated Lynn, 1-0, in conference play on a goal by Fanfoni.

The team's three-game winning streak will be put on the line this weekend as the Sharks travel to take on the University of Tampa on Saturday, Sept. 21, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
