Box Score FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University Sharks fell to the Colorado Christian Cougars 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-22) on Tuesday night.
The Cougars took an early lead in the opening set and maintained their lead for the rest of the frame. The closest margin in the set came on a kill by
Dana Holger (Jr., Lino Lakes, Minn.) to put the score within 5, 13-8. The Sharks played catch-up for the rest of the set before the Cougars won 25-12.
As in the first set, the Sharks fell behind early in the beginning of set number two. The first tie of the set came off a three point NSU rally. A kill by Holger and two Cougar errors tied the score at 9, the first of four ties in the set. However, like the first set, the Cougars would pull away from the Sharks and close the set, 25-15.
The third set opened with a battle as both teams tied the score 13 times. A service ace by
Sydney Cook (Jr., Miami, Fla.) drew NSU to within one point late in the set before an attack by
Katie Pyles (So, Denver, Color.) tied the score for the Sharks. The Cougars had back-to-back kills to win the match.
