Men's Soccer Dropped by Rollins on the Road Saturday

Sharks fall 3-1, will next host Barry on Wednesday

WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University men's soccer team fell on the road Saturday night to Rollins, 3-1.

The Shark (5-7-0, 1-5-0 SSC) defense held firm in the first half, giving up only one goal, in the 21st minute to Rollins' (6-7-0, 4-3-0 SSC) Alexis Martinez. However, the Tars ballooned it to a two-score advantage only 11 seconds in the second half when Grant Blackhurst scored off a cross.

NSU was able to cut that margin in half with just under 10 minutes to go, as Santiago Camacho's (So., Bogata, Colombia) shot rebounded directly to Viktor Jonsson (Jr., Reykjavik, Iceland), who fired it into the open net to make it 2-1 at 80:25.

The slim deficit was short-lived, however, as Rollins scored less than a minute later, with Ben Grant coming up with a long pass to scored at 81:15 for a 3-1 lead. Not only was that the final goal, it was the final shot of the match for either team as the Tars held on for the win.

The Sharks were outshot by the home team, 17-4, with all nine shots in the first half coming by the Tars. They are next back at home on Wednesday for the first of three at the NSU Soccer Complex to end the season. It'll be NSU vs. Barry, with a 7 p.m. kickoff.
