Men’s Soccer Ends Road Trip at Saint Leo

Sharks face Lions Saturday at 7 p.m.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University men's soccer team (5-4-0, 1-2-0 SSC) will end a four-match road trip Saturday against the Saint Leo Lions (3-4-0, 1-2-0 SSC) at 7 p.m.

The Sharks are coming off a pair of tough losses against the defending NCAA National Champions, Lynn, and the region's current top dog, No. 5 Palm Beach Atlantic. In both losses, the Sharks were aggressive and led in each but could not hold on.

Coincidentally, Saint Leo also enters this match after a loss Wednesday against PBA. The Lions are looking to halt a three-match losing streak, having also lost to Florida Tech and Rollins. Saint Leo has not won a match since Sept. 19, when the shocked the nation by handing Lynn, then ranked No. 1, its first loss.

Although both teams are looking to right their ship, the match still has major implications on the league table. Parody has run rampant through the Sunshine State Conference, as every team has dropped points and all but one have lost in league play. At three points, Saint Leo and NSU are at the bottom of the standings but only four points shy of second place and a bye in the SSC Tournament.

NSU will be looking to be the spoilers in their final road match of this trip. Saint Leo is holding this match as a part of its Fall Festival, and fans traveling up to see the Sharks will get a fireworks display after the match.
