SSC Finale Holds Much Meaning for NSU

Sharks searching for bounce-back effort Friday against Lynn

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – While a regular season champion is still undecided and the top-four seeds in next week's Sunshine State Conference remain up for grab, No. 9 Nova Southeastern hopes to take care of its own business Friday night at 6 p.m. ET as the regular season comes to a close on the road at Lynn.

The Sharks controlled their own destiny in the SSC race as recently as Tuesday, yet suffered a slight hiccup following a 2-0 loss against Saint Leo. Despite being handed its first defeat since September 9, Nova Southeastern sits just two points out of the top spot in the conference standings. With a win Friday and some added help, the program's second-ever SSC Championship remains plenty intact.

Nova Southeastern will have to first get by Lynn, however, in a rescheduled match altered due to weather back on September 28. The Fighting Knights enter the contest with the Sharks with a winless 0-5-2 mark in the league, yet have had three of those losses come by one-goal margins and earned one of their two draws against 12th-ranked Rollins roughly one week ago.

A Second Team All-SSC selection in 2015, Donish Cole has paced the Lynn offense with a team-high five goals on the year. As a collective whole, though, the Knights have managed to score multiple goals in a single match just twice this season, and currently rank eighth in the league with an average of just 0.714 goals per game.

NSU has compiled an unbeaten record of 4-0-1 in its last five meetings with Lynn, outscoring the Knights by a margin of 17-4 during that span.
