Volleyball Set to Host No. 15 Palm Beach Atlantic

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Coming off a successful 2-0 weekend on the road, the NSU volleyball team (8-6, 2-3 SSC) will return to home to host a pair of mid-week games. The first of the two will be on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. as the Sharks welcome the No. 15 Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish to the NSU Arena.

The Sharks are riding high after picking up couple of road games over the weekend. On Friday, NSU broke its three-game slump with a 3-1 win over host Rollins before traveling to Daytona Beach to pick up another 3-1 win, this time over SSC provisional member, Embry-Riddle.

For the third time this season, and second time at home, the Sharks will take on a Top-25 ranked team. As a conference provisional member, the Sailfish enter Tuesday night's match with an overall 11-3 record and ranked 15th in the latest AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) Top-25 national poll. PBA has won their last 11 straight matches of the season, most recently toping Rollins 3-2 this past Saturday.

The Sailfish are led by powerhouse hitter Ally Rohn, who averages 3.39 kills per set and has tallied a total of 183 kills. Sarah Ragland is both an offensive and defensive threat for PBA, with an average of 2.35 kills per set and a team-leading 92.0 blocks (87A, 5S). Ragland's 1.70 blocks per set place her at the top spot of the national charts and tied for first for total blocks.
