Box Score MATCH RESULTS
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Nova Southeastern University women's tennis team showcased an outstanding victory against the No. 31 Point Loma Nazarene in San Diego, Calif. on Wednesday, March 2.
The Sharks go up to 2-1 record in the overall start of the 2016 regular season. No. 7 NSU defeated No. 31 Point Loma by an early mark of 5-1. Head coaches of both tennis teams had previously agreed to end the competition once the first team reached a total of five matches won.
The doubles matches concluded in favor of the Sharks, as the Sharks won two of the three matches. The No. 2 Sharks combo
Klaudia Boczova (Jr., Bratislava, Slovakia) and
Carlee Rizzolo (Sr., Livingston, N.J.) took the first victory with a score of 8-1, the No. 1 squad,
Petra Jurova (Sr., Bratislava, Slovakia) and
Sabrina Kierberg (Sr., Munich, Germany) had an intense match point win with a score of 8-6.
The Sharks were first to reach five wins and ended the competition early. Rubel concluded her singles match with an errorless score of 6-0, 6-0. Rizzolo followed the Sharks successful steps with a 6-0, 6-1 mark. Jurova won the last match necessary for the Sharks to claim final victory of the competition.
NSU women's tennis will continue their west coast tour on Thursday, March 3 as they counter the nationally ranked No. 17 University of California, San Diego at 6 p.m. Eastern Time (E.T.)
