BRADENTON, Fla. – Nova Southeastern University women's track and field collected their biggest individual accomplishment of the season through
Sherrelle Jordan at the NCAA DII Outdoor Track and Field Finals on Saturday, May 28 in Bradenton, Florida.
Jordan (Jr., Chandler, Ariz.) advanced into the women's 100 meter hurdles final round with a time of 13.62 seconds and a fifth overall place on Friday evening. Her outstanding performance allowed her to have chances of claiming the All-American honors, an award that is the ultimate goal for most college athletes. Only a selected few have the privilege of reaching the level of competition she has so far, and even fewer get to receive the prestigious mention.
On Saturday Jordan lined up at the start line of the IMG Academy track alongside the best women 100 meter hurdles competitors. The first attempt to start was a false start, which unfortunately eliminated one of the runners from St. Augustine's University. During the second and final attempt, Jordan set a time of 13.81 and placed sixth crowning herself as an All-American athlete.
Through Jordan the Sharks have completely closed their 2016 spring season, which included a series of new institutional and personal records as well as collective and individual awards. These feats have added to the institutional shelves and continuing to excel as a respected NCAA DII program.
