Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

NSU Men’s Soccer Falls to JWU, 2-0

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The NSU men's soccer dropped its Sunday night match, 2-0, to the visiting Wildcats of Johnson and Wales University.

With the loss, the Sharks stand at an even 2-2 on the season, while JWU picks up its first win of 2016 to improve to 1-0.

After a scoreless first half, it took the Wildcats no more than three minutes to score. At the 47:47 mark, Valentine Salinas sent one over NSU's starting goalkeeper, Jack Howard to push JWU ahead, 1-0.

Less than 10 minutes later, on a free kick two yards to the right outside of the box, Patricio Rolon tallied the last score of the game and gave the Wildcats a 2-0 lead.

JWU's Joaquin Orlando was a force to be reckoned with in goal, making six saves in all 90:00 including a powerful header by Viktor Jonsson in the 86th minute that would have brought the deficit to just one goal.

After seeing all 90:00 in goal for the Sharks, Howard took the loss, moving his record to 1-1.

NSU will kick off conference play on Wedneday, Sept. 14 at 7:00 pm as they travel to Lakeland, Fla. to take on host Florida Southern.
