Rematch with Sailfish Looms Saturday

NSU edged PBA 1-0 in earlier meeting on September 6

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – After some untimely rain wiped out Wednesday night's matchup at Lynn, 18th-ranked Nova Southeastern will take another shot at win No. 8 this season when it travels to face Sunshine State Conference provisional member Palm Beach Atlantic Saturday night at 7 p.m. ET.

Wednesday's affair marked the second time this year that the Sharks have been forced into postponement following a cancelation against Catawba back on September 3rd, and have now yet to play a single match within the last nine full days. The extra rest may prove to be a blessing in disguise, though, with the back end of Nova Southeastern's schedule loaded with a number of NCAA Tournament-caliber programs.

However, the Sharks mustn't overlook a Sailfish squad that's already pushed them to the brink once this month and has won three of its last four matches. Deadlocked in a scoreless contest into the 82nd minute, Nova Southeastern used a Gabriela Alfaro game-winner off a corner kick attempt by teammate Tova Nilsson to escape with the narrow 1-0 victory.

That loss dropped Palm Beach Atlantic's record to 1-2 overall, but head coach Chris Gnehm's club has since built a bit of momentum by beating Newberry, Johnson & Wales (Fla.) and Lynn in the recent weeks.

Lisa Caprara currently leads the Sailfish with a team-high four goals, while keeper Isabelle Granlund has notched a combined three shutouts and limited opponents to just 0.55 goals per game since taking over the primary role in net on September 9.

Dating back to 2013, NSU has compiled an unbeaten 3-0-1 record in its previous four meetings with PBA.
