Tova Nilsson's corner kick pushed the Sharks to a 1-0 victory over the Sailfish of Palm Beach Atlantic on Tuesday night at the NSU Soccer Complex.
With the win, NSU improves to 2-0 on the early season while PBA falls to 1-2 overall.
Both sides of NSU's team came to play on Tuesday night, showing outstanding performances on both the offensive and defensive side. Overall, the Sharks shot the ball 24 times and held the 'Fish to 10 shots total, while edging the visitors in shots on frame, 7-6.
The Sailfish tried to jump ahead in the 21
st minute with a shot by Shannon Berg, but an outstanding save by NSU's starting goalkeeper,
Ida Norstrom, keep the scoreboard locked at 0-0.
Norstrom (2-0) shined in goal for NSU, earning the win after making six saves total in all 90 minutes.
Despite making six saves for PBA, Alexis Sanquist (1-2) went home with the loss.
Nova Southeastern will continue home play on Wednesday night as they host Florida Memorial at 7:00 pm at the NSU Soccer Complex.
