HOW IT HAPPENED:
- No drama was needed this time around after Sofia Del Stabile's golden goal was the difference back in the season's first meeting with the Sailfish. Just six minutes into the match, Orteu masterfully dodged the cluster within the box by curling her corner kick attempt from the left side of the field into the back of the net.
- With momentum already on their side, the Sharks kept their foot on the gas and managed to double their lead when Adanna Edwards collected a stolen pass and outraced the defense for her fourth goal of the season.
- In search of some sort of momentum, Palm Beach Atlantic came inches away from cutting into the deficit in the 25th minute. However, Kayla Fisher's scoring chance struck the cross bar to keep Nova Southeastern's two-goal lead intact.
- Comfortably in front, head coach John Constable was able to utilize his bench for much of the second half, preserving some legs with the Sharks closing in on the final few weeks of the regular season.
STATS OF THE NIGHT:
- Nova Southeastern finished the night with a 19-9 advantage in the shot department. The Sharks allowed only three shots on goal after surrendering a total of eight versus Palm Beach Atlantic back on September 5.
- Keeper Jordan Lentz registered three saves in the effort prior to being replaced by freshman Shannon Hearty in the 87th minute.
- Outside of their lone defeat, the Sharks have tallied at least two goals in every match this season.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Dating back to 2006, the Sharks have not lost to the Sailfish in 12 consecutive meetings, outscoring them by a combined 35-8 in that span.
- Edwards' score marked her first since Nova Southeastern faced Felician back on September 3.
- With the win, the Sharks have now moved five points ahead of Barry atop the SSC standings.
